Exam certificates will be issued to your school or college within 12 weeks of the publication of results. They will then decide on the most appropriate way to distribute to their students.
If you have not received your examination certificate, please contact your school or college in the first instance. But please note that they are only obliged to retain unclaimed certificates for one year from the date of issue.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have had to limit the provision of our past results services. Currently, confirmation of qualifications can only be provided by an Electronic Letter of Confirmation, which can be emailed to you or direct to a third party.
Electronic Letter of Confirmation
Before you apply please check that this service meets your requirements and that of the organisation requesting confirmation of your qualifications.
We appreciate your application is urgent, for this reason all applications are processed in strict date order. Please allow 6 weeks to process your application form, although every effort will be made to process as quickly as possible.
To apply for a Electronic Letter of Confirmation fill out this Application form and return it to us.
- You must complete the form. A third party cannot apply on your behalf.
- The application form must be forwarded to WJEC as an attachment not embodied within the email.
- ID must be attached.
- WJEC will notify you of the payment details which must be made by BACS/Bank Transfer.
- Make a copy/save what you have sent and received.

This is not a copy of the original certificate, but an alternative certificate. WJEC certificate stationery is used which has an official WJEC hologram proving its authenticity and is universally accepted.
Changes to your personal details:
Please return your certificate to your school/college within 12 months of the date of issue of results. Your school/college will return the certificate to us and a new original certificate will be issued.
If you have not returned your certificate to your school/college within the 12 month period of the date of issue, for advice, please email replacementcertificates@wjec.co.uk
Change of grade following an enquiry about a result:
Please return the certificate to your school/college within 12 months of the date of issue of results. Your school/college must return the certificate to us, and a new original certificate will be issued free of charge.
