Reforming Level 3 Foundation Art and Design - Get involved

We are currently reforming our Level 3 Foundation Art and Design qualification, to ensure it remains fit-for-purpose, up-to-date and reflects current good practice in qualification and assessment design.

Our Level 3 Foundation Art and Design qualification is aimed at post-18 learners in FE colleges. It provides learners with a thorough and comprehensive experience of art, craft, design and media underpinned by analytical principles, exploratory and investigative practices, contextual research and material experiences and supports progression to higher education and/or training.

There are several ways to get involved in the reform of our Level 3 Foundation Art and Design qualification:

{"accordionHeading":"","accordionItems":[{"accordionTitle":"Qualification Development Advisory Groups ","accordionTitleSecondary":null,"accordionImage":"","accordionContent":"We are looking for individuals to join our Qualification Development Advisory Groups to advise, inform and challenge us as we move through the qualification development process. \nOur Qualification Development Advisory Groups: \n<ul>\n<li>inform the outline qualification design, including the qualification structure and approaches to assessment </li>\n<li>test our proposals, by being a critical but supportive friend to ensure that the qualification will meet stakeholder expectations </li>\n<li>contribute with a solutions mindset. </li>\n</ul>\nOur first Qualification Development Advisory Groups will be held in February (date to be confirmed). In this role you will be asked to undertake some or all of the following:  \n<ul>\n<li>produce unit content along with a rationale for inclusion that meets qualification requirements  </li>\n<li>produce sample assessments (question papers/ non-examination assessment tasks and mark schemes) that meet qualification and assessment specification requirements  </li>\n<li>review unit content/ sample assessments to ensure that they meet qualification and assessment specification requirements  </li>\n<li>submit unit and assessment content in the required format, within agreed timescales  </li>\n<li>ensure unit and assessment content meets all commissioning instructions, as agreed with the qualification development officer  </li>\n<li>provide additional assessment content as required, including document/image sources and details of copyright permission.  </li>\n<li>attend assessment review panel days and training sessions, as required (which will be held via Microsoft Teams, online).  </li>\n</ul>\n\nExperience / qualifications needed  \n<ul>\n<li>teaching and/or professional qualifications/experience relevant to the sector  </li>\n<li>knowledge and understanding of vocational qualifications  </li>\n<li>good written communication skills particularly in your sector/subject areas of choice  </li>\n<li>confident use of ICT  </li>\n<li>ability to pick up new skills quickly and apply them  </li>\n<li>ability to work to a tight deadline  </li>\n<li>be able to write clearly and concisely.  </li>\n</ul>\nFor further information, please contact <a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"mailto:qualificationdevelopment@wjec.co.uk\" target=\"_blank\">qualificationdevelopment@wjec.co.uk</a>.
