The WJEC Level 2 Introduction to Advanced Manufacturing Technologies (Semiconductors) introduces learners to advanced manufacturing technologies with a specific focus on semiconductors and the semiconductor industry. It has been designed for individuals with little or no engineering background who want to learn about the sector and the career pathways available.

Units have developed to provide learners with a foundation of knowledge and understanding relevant to the sector, along with the opportunity to develop some technical skills that will
support progression to further learning.

Centres can select and combine units to develop flexible learning programmes that meet the needs of an individual learner or group of learners. Each unit has been given a credit value
and the total number of credits achieved by a learner will determine the size of the qualification they are awarded.

Whilst the WJEC Level 2 Introduction to Advanced Manufacturing Technologies (Semiconductors) is not designed to lead directly to employment, it will support learners to develop knowledge, skills and behaviours that will prepare them for future employment
within the semiconductor industry.
