WJEC is looking to recruit examiners and moderators to mark this year for examinations through the medium of Irish.

Job Description Closing date

WJEC is working with CCEA to provide examinations through the medium of Irish. We are looking to appoint Irish medium examiners in the above subjects. Applicants should have a background in teaching the relevant specification or an equivalent at the same or a higher level, and also be fluent in Irish.

The successful applicant will be required to liaise closely with the Principal Examiner/Moderator for the subject. The examiner/moderator will have to pass a series of standardising tasks before live marking can begin.

The post of Irish Medium examiner/moderator is central to the functioning of the Irish medium qualification and requires a time commitment of approximately two weeks after the conference, and the conference will be held as soon after the examination as possible. This may be during term time, at weekends and during holiday time. Release payments to centres are available.
