Learner survey - proposed changes to GCSE and AS/A level assessments in 2022

Summer 2022: Learner Survey outcomes

We understand that learners have experienced a great deal of disruption to learning throughout 2020 and 2021. Consequently, we launched a consultation in June on our proposed changes to GCSE, AS and A level qualifications in 2022. Qualifications Wales has confirmed that approved GCSE, AS and A level qualifications will be assessed via exams and non-examination assessments as normal, but reflecting these adaptations, in summer 2022.

Around 950 learners, parents and carers from across Wales took part in our survey, and we are extremely grateful for the feedback and comments received.

We have reviewed the feedback in detail, and are pleased to confirm that a majority of respondents indicated their support for our proposals.

Outcomes of the survey are available to view in the following report. In addition, adaptations for each subject will be available on their respective webpages later in September.
