Ian Morgan, Chief Executive to present keynote speech on qualification reforms in Wales

Ian, alongside Richard Harry, Executive Director: Qualifications and Assessment will be joined by two of our Qualification Development Officers, Dr Rachel Dodge and Nina Rees, to discuss the priorities for qualification development in Wales.

Commenting on his participation at the flagship conference, Ian Morgan, CEO WJEC, said: "As the leading awarding body in Wales, we are proud to be developing a new suite of Made-for-Wales GCSEs and related qualifications, all of which are being carefully designed to support the ambitions of the Curriculum for Wales.

We have adopted a co-construction approach to the development and have ensured that voices from across Wales are heard and considered.

We recently published the first wave of approved Made-for-Wales specifications and are confident that our new qualifications will provide learners with unique learning opportunities to enhance their knowledge and skills to enable them to flourish in a global market.

Ours team are also exploring Qualifications Wales’ Full 14-16 Offer, and based on our experience in the delivery of skills-based qualifications, such as the Skills Challenge Certificates, our teams are confident that we can enhance our offering to provide learners with broader learning experiences.

I look forward to sharing more at the Policy Insight Wales digital conference and taking part in further constructive discussions and debate."

Ian, alongside members of our organisation will lead a keynote address titled ‘Priorities for qualification development in Wales’.
