Ian Morgan, Chief Executive to present keynote seminar on the future of curriculum reform in Wales

Ian will join a panel of esteemed educationalists to deliver a series of seminars and panel discussions at a Policy Forum for Wales event to discuss reform and implementation of the new curriculum in schools and colleges across Wales.

Commenting on his participation at the flagship conference, Ian Morgan, CEO WJEC, said: “The reformed curriculum offers Wales the opportunity to be leaders, providing students with unique learning opportunities to enhance their knowledge and skills to enable them to flourish in a global market. 

Our development of a new suite of GCSEs will be closely aligned with the reformed curriculum, and our commitment to adopt a co-construction approach in their development will ensure that voices from across Wales are heard. 

Conferences such as these allow us to present our ideas in an open forum, whilst also providing opportunities for constructive discussions and debate.” 

Ian will lead a session titled ‘Alignment of the new curriculum with qualification reform’, where he will explore WJEC’s approach to the development of a suite of new GCSEs, as part of the Qualified for the future initiative.

Conference content

The online conference will be taking place on Thursday 27 April, and will focus on implementation of the new school curriculum in Wales, including priorities for delivery and assessment.

The event will feature keynote sessions from Dr Ben Jensen, Chief Executive, Learning First; and David Stacey, Senior Lecturer, University of Wales Trinity Saint David.

Delegates will have the opportunity to discuss the future of curriculum reform in Wales, alongside key policy officials who are due to attend from the Senedd and National Education Union.
